Diskeeper 2009 Professional is one of several editions available of this tool developed by Diskeeper Corporation. The other editions are: Home, Pro Premier, and Home Server. Diskeeper is basically a tool for disk defragmentation with some worth knowing particular features. First of all, Diskeeper offers many customization options so you can select the better way to defragment your drives.
This program includes a feature named InvisiTasking which purpose is to handle all defragmentation tasks automatically, saving you from the trouble of taking care of them. Considering that Diskeeper’s interface is a little bit messy, automatic operation sounds like a good idea. It can run on Windows from its version 2000 to the newest versions, including Home Server and Server 2003.
An exclusive technology of Diskeeper is I-FAAST (Intelligent File Access Acceleration Technology). It promises to improve by up to 80% the file access and creation rate, using an “intelligent” process to organize files.
It also implements the Frag Shield technology, which focus defragmentation tasks on the master file table and paging files.
